Collaborative Divorce-an Alternative Model of Divorce Resolution

Collaborative Divorce is an alternative model that is quite different from the traditional litigated and contentious divorce process with which we are all too familiar.  With this model, you and your spouse commit to settling your case without going to Court.  Jo Ann Shartrand is the founding director of the Capital District Collaborative Divorce Association, and she can assist you with this process.  Each party chooses a collaboratively trained matrimonial attorney to handle the legal issues, and a divorce coach to develop parenting plans and respond to the painful emotions that divorce sometime involves. The parties and their collaborative professionals then work together in a series of meetings consisting of negotiations leading to a marital settlement agreement.
